The Dune Artist Group (Windhoek/Berlin) stellt am 25.1.2018 in der Natonal Art Gallery of Namibia aus. Die Ausstellung „It´s raining Cats and Dogs“ wird über mehrere Monsate in Windhoek zu sehen sein.
Mit Peter Möller, Imke Rust, Carola Rümper, Niina Turtola, Kirsten Wechslberger und Sandra Schmidt.
„The Dune“ Artist Group, entstanden aus dem Stipendium „Tulipamwe Artist Workshop 2015“ der Nationalgalerie Namibia in Gobabeb/Namib Wüste, gegründet von Sandra Schmidt und Kirsten Wechslberger, besteht zur Zeit aus Deutschen und Namibischen Künstlern/Künstlerinnen. AD HOC Ausstellung. “The Dune” Artist Group und Freunde in der OMBA Galerie in Windhoek/Namibia
“The Dune” Artist Group ist ein Zusammenschluss von Bildenden Kuenstlern aus Windhoek und Berlin.
Die Gruppe entstand 2015 aus dem Tulipamwe International Artist Workshop der National Art Gallery of Namibia in Gobabeb/Namib Wueste. Dort begegneten die Kuenstlerinnen Kirsten Wechslberger, Frieda Luehl, Marita van Rooyen und Frauke Stegmann aus Namibia der Kuenstlerin Sandra Schmidt aus Berlin. Die deutsche Teil von “The Dune” besteht inzwischen zudem aus den Kuenstlern Carola Ruemper, Peter Moeller, Almut Mueller und Mariella Lo Manto. Eine Ausweitung der Kuenstlerruppe in Adelaide/Australien, iniziert von Melanie Sarantou (eine namibische Kuenstlerin die in Australien lebt), ist geplant.
Idee der “The Dune” Artist Group ist zusammen auszustellen, Austausch zu foerdern, gemeinsame Projekte zu gestalten und auch andere Kuenstler einzuladen teilzuhaben. In Namibia, in Deutschland, in Sued Australien. Dazu beitragen werden Kunstraueme wie die neue Galerie “The Project Room” (Frieda Luehl) in Windhoek, das Atelierhaus im Hinterhof (Sandra Schmidt) und der Projektraum MP43 (Carola Ruemper) in Berlin und Art South South Trust (Melanie Sarantou) in Adelaide.
Die Ausstellung “AD HOC” die zur Zeit in der OMBA Galerie im Craft Centre in Windhoek zu sehen ist entstand, wie der Name verraet, sehr kurzfristig. Kirsten Wechslberger, Sandra Schmidt und Frieda Luehl von “The Dune” zeigen Arbeiten und haben Paul Kiddo, Kim Modise und Mitchell Gatsy eingeladem mit ihnen auszustellen. Zu betrachten gibt es Installationen, Objekte, Mobiles, Malerei, Druckgrafik und Zeichnungen.
Die Ausstellung ist noch bis zum 21. Maerz 2016 in der OMBA Galerie, 40 Tal St, zu besichtigen. Offen: Mo-Fr 9-17.30 Uhr, Sa+So 9-13.30 Uhr.
Weitere “The Dune” Projekte sind in Planung, zB. eine Kunst Sommerakademie in Swakopmund im Januar/Februar 2017.
